Daimler’s leadership is no longer in question after the company extended the contract of its chief executive and offered the clearest sign yet that it has a successor in place. Following a record year for car sales and revenue last year, Daimler said Dieter Zetsche would stay in post to the end of the decade, rather than the end of 2016. Ola Källenius, currently head of sales at Mercedes-Benz cars, was named board member responsible for group research and development. He will succeed Thomas Weber, who retires at the end of the year.
