Henri de Castries to Step Down from AXA

Henri de Castries, chairman and chief executive of Axa, is set to retire later this year the French insurer announced on Monday. Thomas Buberl will become chief executive when Mr de Castries steps down on September 1 after almost two decades at the helm of the group. Mr Buberl joined Axa in 2012 to head its German operation. Denis Duverne, Axa’s deputy chief executive, will become chairman of Europe’s second-biggest insurer.
