Telstra CEO Andy Penn Heads the Top 20 List of Business Leaders on Twitter

Penn, who has more than 37,000 followers, was named at the top of KPMG’s top 20 Twitter power list because of his use of the medium to “promote important public affairs statements, as well as to manage and effectively respond to operational difficulties”. The KPMG report, called Tweeting from the top, is based on data collected between January 1 this year and May 10. To qualify, Twitter accounts had to be for an individual who self-nominated themselves as a CEO, managing director or chair at an Australian-based or Australian-headquartered company, business, national division, leading advocacy group or peak body. James Griffin, who is director of KPMG Social Media Intelligence said the top 20 Twitter power list was produced in co-operation with Twitter which shared some of their internal data with KPMG.
