The report reviews current arrangements and trends in board practices and financing of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. First introduced as a working paper at the 4th OECD Latin American Network on Corporate Governance in Santiago, Chile in June 2015, the report had since been informed by interviews and questionnaires about SOE board nomination, size and composition, evaluation, training, induction and use of committees. Participants from the ten countries were also questioned on SOE approaches to financing and budgeting.
