Under President Xi Jinping, China has undergone a nearly four year long corruption crack down across all sectors. Power brokers, corporate executives, generals, judges, high ranking government officials, party members and executives of the country’s powerful oil and gas majors have all come under the radar, with little exception. In 2015, Xi’s anti-corruption crack down punished nearly 300,000 officials, equivalent to the population of Pittsburgh and Anchorage, Alaska, respectively. The latest power broker to fall under Xi’s reign has been a top ranking, active PLA general, the first time an active ranking military official has been brought down.
